TABHITA KING

Born :March 24, 1949 in Old Town, Maine
Parents : Raymond George and Sarah Jane White Spruce

She is one of eight children to Raymond George and Sarah Jane White Spruce. She was raised in Maine and attended The University of Maine, where she met her husband to be Stephen. Soon after marriage, she and Stephen welcomed their first child, a daughter, Naomi Rachel, soon to followed by their first son in June 1972 Joe Hillstrom, and on February 21, 1977, their third child Owen Phillip was born.

Tabitha, like her husband, was also intrigued by the world of writing, and she has published several works of her own in the horror genre. Beginning in 1981, she has published several novels, her latest collaboration with Michael Mc Dowell, titled Candles Burning. Her work has been praised very highly by critics. Tabitha is also a community activist, serving on the board of directors of The Shaw House, an adolescent shelter in Bangor, Maine, and in 1996 was a major player in raising 8 million dollars to build a new library, also in Bangor. She and her husband are strong supporters of the community that they live in, and they are well respected by the residents of Bangor, for not only their charitable contributions, but also their personal efforts and dedication to their hometown. Strangely, one may think they cause a fanfare, but to the residents of Bangor, Maine, the Kings humbly blend in with the crowd.

THEIR CHILDREN

Even though his own father was not the most ideal example, Stephen conducts himself as a captivated father that values the time he shares with his wife and three children. Even though King put food on the table by telling frightening tales, his children paint a different picture of how he would explain to them why something should not be scary. His children also describe Stephen King as a biblical scholar who continued to read the bible to his children even into their teen years. Reading, writing, and sports (especially baseball and swimming) also played an important role in Naomi, Joseph, and Owen's growing years. How many children can return home from school to find both parents passionately plucking away at a typewriter and making a substantial living at it. It is no wonder that two of the three King children took up the family writing craft.

Naomi Rachel King - Born in 1970

The oldest child, Naomi Rachel, became a Unitarian minister, she being the only one in the family to stray outside of the family occupation. She worked as a restaurateur before finding her calling as an ordained minister. She entered into a same sex union with Thandeka. As of 2008, they both serve as ministers of the Unitarian Universalist church in Plantation, Florida. Although she does not have a published work, Naomi davvles in the art of story telling while preaching from the pulpit.

IT LOOKS LIKE STEPHEN AND TABITHA'S KING SONS ARE FOLLOWING THEIR FOOTSTEPS....

Owen Phillip King - Born in 1977
The third child of the King clan, Owen Philip, has written one book to date, We’re All In This Together, a novella of three short stories, published in 2005. He is currently married to novelist Kelly Braffet and lives in New York City. He takes his family name in stride, and like his brother, aims to earn his reputation as an author just like his father did so many years ago. Owen and Phillip are working on a screenplay together that will be somewhat of a baseball mystery story.
